The hot topic facing many businesses is the surge in requests to work from home on a permanent basis, with reduced hours in the office per week or month.
Following eighteen months of lockdowns, including “snap” lockdowns, and the forced work from home, organisations and employees adapted to the new normal. Workplace flexibility came into its own and with the return to work, has led to the increase in requests to permanently work from home.
Join us for 1.5 hours of informative and engaging presentations and discussion on best practice flexible work and responding to the increase in work from home requests. This forum will remind you of your obligations under the Fair Work Act, as well as highlight what best practice organisations are doing in this space.
Key questions to be addressed:
– How to manage requests
– What are the rights of the individual who is seeking such an arrangement
– What are the obligations on the employer
– What is the process involved in considering these requests
– How do employers say no without introducing risk
– Are these requests managed differently from previous work from home requests
– Has there been a surge in requests compared to requests pre COVID
– Are these requests for specified period / temporary, or are they permanent
– How do you manage the OHS issues and mitigate risk, and what is the cost ($$)
– Has there been an increase in engagement of employees or has working from home created isolation and health & wellbeing / mental health issues
– How does having a hybrid model of people working from home and people in the office affect culture
This forum is suitable for:
