Nic, 28, has always lived in regional NSW and currently resides in Junee. Nic has a sustained passion and drive for social justice and intersectionality in the equity, diversity, and inclusion space, advocating and actively contributing to advancing inclusion in their spheres of influence. They hold a Bachelor of Social Work, Postgrad-Certificate in Project Management and Master of Social Work (Advanced Practice with Distinction) from Charles Sturt University.
From 2015-2018, Nic worked at headspace Dubbo, and contributed significantly to the conversation around youth mental health, marriage equality, and inclusion for LGBTIQA+ individuals in regional and rural areas. From 2018-2022, Nic has worked as an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Advisor at Charles Sturt University. This role covered staff and student cohorts, and encompassed all equity groups, including, but not limited to, LGBTIQA+, gender, culturally diverse, accessibility and First Nations. In August 2022, Nic started as the Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator at NSW SES.
Nic is authentic, empathetic, and committed to making a positive difference through their lived experience, demonstrated by various volunteer roles such as the National Regional Director at Out for Australia, Sydney WorldPride Pride Committee member, and previously the National Scholar Manager for the Pinnacle Foundation.
